Review by Miguelito

Miguelito This is a fun show, with a bunch of highlights. The first set is pretty packed but it’s during the Melt where things get taken to the next level. This version is fantastic, building and building to that frenzied, chaotic place that the best versions of this tune take us. I’ll take Fluffhead to follow something like that anytime and this one doesn’t disappoint.

I’ll take Peaches any time, in any spot. But opening Set II is a wise choice as it sets a fantastic tone for the rest of the set. This is clear in the Bowie, which is excellent. While not all the exploratory, it covers some nice ground and it’s a good demonstration of how the band is firing on all cylinders. This was such a great era for this tune and it’s nice to see it in the 2 spot in the second set. Horse > Silent follow as a nice breather. And then? My old friend, Dinner and a Movie! So great to see you. I miss you! Making its first appearance this tour, and not appearing again until the ‘95 fall tour, it’s already becoming a rarity.

The Tweezer is interesting, and chaotic while it lasts, and transitions very smoothly into Wilson. The Reba is pretty great and this was a good year for the song. However, it’s hard to compete with the prior, phenomenal version on 10.18.94. I like the setlist sequence of AC/DC Bag, followed by the set closing Highway to Hell. A nice Uncle Pen Tweezeprise encore and this solid show is done. Overall, I really liked this show as there is much that is worth checking out. While there are several shows surrounding this one that may be stronger, this is a good one and may even be somewhat underrated given the highlights and energy the band exudes.
