MEXICO1 RECAP: GROOVE WITH A TWIST

[This recap is courtesy of user @KellyNicu, thank you Kelly! -Ed.]

Trey welcomed us to another beautiful first night in Mexico with a simple hello and a modest nod to the crowd before launching into the appropriately chosen “Sand," which was certainly as tight as ever. They continued with a couple more beachy songs, “Theme From the Bottom” and and “Free."

The set started breezy, and rather eased into ... until they started to turn it up a notch, rocking “Kill Devil Falls” and “Ghost."

Evolve” featured a lighthearted solo from Page and “Antelope”---though wild as it should be---was certainly never out of control.

Set two began with “Set Your Soul Free” but the highlights for me began when the ambient jams blended with incredible raging builds, particularly in ”Cities” and “Twist,” which was rather slow and slinky.

Light” did not disappoint and the rest of the second set kept the energy high.

Mike’s Song” into “I am Hydrogen” into Weekapaug Groove” was a groovy treat for all.

The encore with “My Sweet One” kept everyone dancing but “Carini” certainly brought down the house as a raging close to the show.

As everyone spilled out of the venue area and over to the late night pool party, the energy in the air was definitely that of a crowd ready to do it again tonight.

Ausonius I thought Trey threw in BDTNL because he was unhappy with the ending of Twist, needed an easy rager to close it out.
