Review by gonzo77

gonzo77 It's been a while since I've listened to my first Phish show. This '96 fall tour always sounded excellent on tape in my Divided Sky Blue '91 Pontiac Grand Am... all decorated with phish stickers since '95; posing, well in advance of my first ever show. I wasn't too into Phish at the time. A friend in an English class at Aquinas College (just up the street from Van Andel Arena) did a speech on Phish's live one the fall prior to their visit to GR. Tickets were fairly cheap, $28.50 at the time maybe. Had a few heady Paleooza Pale Ale's by New Holland Brewing Company and Bells Solsun (Oberon as most of you would know it by). Bought a grilled cheese in the parking ramp across from the venue prior to the show. I enjoyed the show tremendously, but I don't remember it like I do every show since. I'm not sure if it was because of it being my first experience of the Phish, or if I was too drunk. Either way, when the all fall down signal was given I was quite elated as Wes went into fine detail of what to do when said signal was given. I felt like I was the only one that actually fell down. I loved the Gumbo and the Cavern encore. Beyond that I'll have to revisit the tape to get the feeling back. Cheers!
