Review by DollarBill

DollarBill This is the fifth and last show at the Roseland, 43rd of the tour, and another pretty average performance for '93. The April Fool's joke was that Neil Young was going to jam with them, which added some fun banter to this one, but more squeaks and squawks in the sound system plagued Paul and Pete for a while like last night.

I'm not sure what Trey is teasing at the beginning of the show, somebody get on that. Anyway, good Llama to open up first set, really rocking. Guelah was pretty good, but the monitor feedback continues. It was funny to hear Trey laugh before the Fly section because of the crowd's antics. Rift's timing continues to be a problem and the monitor feeds. Stash was good and had a nice diminished sounding jam. Very early for a good Coil, but they have been switching things up as of late. My Friend was just ok tonight. Paul and Silas was nice and dynamic. Fluff was good overall, but continued to have sound squeaks going on. Lawn Boy had a fun ending on it and Antelope made for a solid closer to a decent first set. Nice teases in Antelope as well.

A rocking Axilla to start the second set had a weak bridge section. Curtain was pretty good tonight. Good, solid Possum and Fee, and a faster, better Ya Mar keep this set rocking. Tweezer was a little loose at times, but good and long. Poor Heart was good and then the Balls come out to jam with a long ending while Trey gets his guitar back on. The funny Neil Young announcement and HYHU brings Fish out for jokes and a Terrapin. Trey had a little trouble with the lyrics to a rocking Cavern closer.

For the encores tonight: Shush yourself for a good Carolina and then rock out to the expected Tweeprise.

Better than last nights show, but still pretty average for this tour, I'm going to go three stars. Maybe three and a half if I could.
