Apologies I should have prefaced it with a tl;dr. This one admittedly did not get my usual second pass at editing because I had to hop on a plane back home. Will own that, though I will also blame Phish for performing a show that had too many themes, subtexts, and monstrous jams to not warrant including them. What can I say, not everyone loves the long aimless jams (me included!), and while I'll admit this recap meanders bit a bit more than I'd have liked, the show most certainly doesn't.

The Cities>Tube is absolutely unreal, but folks shouldn't sleep on the Taste, About to Run either. Taste is very well executed, everyone has A-game. And About to Run (along with the No Quarter) may be among the best examples I can think of (from any era) of Phish really owning a monstrously heavy arena rock and roll sound, complete with guitar god action that still stays tasteful and tight, the way you'd expect from a Led Zeppelin, or Neil Young (About to Run sounds like a seriously dirty Down by the River jam).
