The songs of 2.0 that they like to play along with the "Joy" tracks leave a great taste in ones mouth. Theres a maturity there, in the songwriting aspect of it, that makes one hopeful for the next album or batch of new songs. Its been 2 and half years of touring though and only 1 album. Phish needs new material to incorparate into awesome songs like Light and BDTNL. Some of the "emotional" stuff of 3.0 does seem to be reaching a bit, a little overwrought ya know. Summer of 89, Show of Life and the like don't seem to disguise the emotion enough but songs like Light hit the nail on the head.
