This is a typical, which is to say very solid, Fall ‘94 show, with a couple of noteworthy things worth mentioning here.

The first of these is the Bathtub Gin, making its first appearance of the tour. And it comes back raging! While not even close to my favorite version, it’s a very enjoyable one and a welcome return to the lineup. It’s worth noting too that PYITE preceded Gin, also making its tour debut. A bit later we get a Forbin’s > Mockingbird that is always worth listening to, and has an interesting narration focused on a Spirit Beam before heading into Gamehenge.

The next is the 1-2 set II opening sequence of The Curtain > Tweezer. I love this opening combo. The Tweezer is relatively short but don’t let that dissuade you from giving it a listen. Like the Gin, this isn’t a stellar version, or even close to being best from this tour, but it’s got some interesting moments and I like how it dissolves into Lifeboy. The CDT and Coil are both very solid and enjoyable. The CDT is a bit extended, which is notable since it’ll be the longest version of the year until NYE.

The encore tunes, with the horns, are fun and it’s a shame they didn’t join them earlier on. I particularly like the Ya Mar here but the Cavern is pretty great too. In all, this is fun, solid show that has a few real highlights but doesn’t really break any new ground.

This is a longer show than most shows so far on this tour and while I don't find this one to be exceptionally better than any of the previous, it still has it's moments.

First set is really fun and I think the highlight is the Gin that lasts about 13 minutes. While this version won't top any best-of Gin charts, its worth a listen for the slower and trance-like jam that about 8min in, with the help of Page and a meandering Trey sounds like, to me, that we are falling through space (or corridor) on the way to Gamehendge which could help lead to the Forbin > Mockingbird later. The Forbin narration is pretty standard as Trey talks about leaving the shell of your body and sinking into the core of the Earth to enter Gamehendge. Good stuff from an excellent first set.

The second set starts off with promise with The Curtain> Tweezer but this Tweezer is nothing to write home about and seems a bit directionless, but does have a nice segue into Lifeboy. Guyute keeps the pace and the Chalkdust livens things up a bit more. The show takes another turn when they ditch the electrics and go into an acoustic block of songs in typical fall '94 fashion. While I enjoy the bluegrass acoustic stuff, I think it can really ruin the momentum of a set. This set had good flow in my opinion, but I never thought it picked up any real momentum, so the acoustics may have been a good placement. A good Coil is placed nicely and they wrap things up with Tweeprise.

The encore is fun with the added horns for Ya Mar, but the structure of the song is a little awkward but that could be me just being picky. Cavern ends things nicely reminding everyone to take care of your shoes and probably your shell.

Good show overall, but I find the second set to be a little lackluster. Not a big deal though. 3/5

A fairly average show. But a fun show.

Highlights:

S1 Strong Sample in The Jar. Awesome "Spirit Beam" Narration in Col Forbin.

S2 Intense Tweezer Trey starts riffing and hits some high peaks. A pretty version of Lifeboy. Solid CDT. Cool yet standard bluegrass section. The highlight for me is the well played Coil with a nice extended piano outro that is gorgeous.

E The horns provide a nice creole touch to Yamar. And they had a little extra to Cavern.

Nothing epic or spectacular but fun none the less.
