My Friend My Friend did not contain the "Myfe" ending. Mike sung part of Passing Through in Light. Golgi's lyrics were changed to "I saw you with a barcode in your hand." Trey and Fish teased Mr. Completely in 46 Days.

Review by youenjoymyghost

youenjoymyghost Really solid show. They came right out of the gate with a huge type 2 jam and a uniquely placed/ extended Walls and multiple classics to finish out the first half. Second set had a really great flow. Even though I'm chasing passing through ill take a mountains anytime. Everything felt well done with nothing out of place in the second half. Encore hit just right. Very little to complain about here in Charleston for night one.

Review by Marc0Esquand0las

Marc0Esquand0las I’m blessed to say I’ve been lucky enough to witness some “legendary shows.” (Fox Theatre ‘95. Hampton ‘97. MSG ‘97. Prague ‘98.) This show ranks up there for me in the top 10… maybe ever??? Everything was flawless, crackling with energy & executed with virtuoso wizard skill. Insane to say that after all this time they are still breaking new ground and crushing it this hard. Listen to this one and taste the nectar. Tube was so nasty dirty that I almost called the police.

Review by mindleftpants

mindleftpants This was my first show, and it was a magical introduction to the wondrous flow of sound Phish is capable of producing, not to mention the captivating light show by Mr. Kuroda. I'm a young lad, and I used to think I knew a lot about music and live performances. I used to think I knew about psychedelic experiences. This band within 2 sets and an encore completely re-wired my brain. Did some gelled happy juice contribute to this? Of course. But in retrospect, I wouldn't have had it any other way. Everyone to whom I spoke to start the show was thrilled to hear it was my first, and I felt very comforted by the common "Have a Great Show!" It is important to note I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into with regards to both Phish and the copious amounts of plastic, but my friend assured me of the euphoric power of both. I was ready.

SYSF was a very potent message for me to hear for my very first song and I started trusting the band to take me wherever they wanted. Most of Set 1 was a blur, but The Squirming Coil was a beautiful ending as the sun set.

Then, darkness fell. The end of Axilla II both amused and horrified me and I was already suspended in space before 2001 even started. Getting funked out into Light brought me back to a similar feeling from the start with SYSF and this turned into one of my most favorite jams from all of 2022. Mountains in the Mist was so soothing, and Meat brought back the funk... and the psychedelia. Golgi->Slave->Cavern sold me to come back the next night, but 46 Days -> Tube solidified my new obsession.

In summary, as biased as one can be about their first show, I still think this show deserves a higher rating than a 3.5, and I left this show feeling blessed and bathed in sound.

Review by Beerlanthropist10288

Beerlanthropist10288 It was an absolute blast the first night! Set 1 had some good evil phish going on. Set 2 just burned the place to the ground. The energy in that place was insane. That squirming coil was something else in person. Have yet to re listen to it at home, but damn it was powerful to be there page side when that was going on. One of the best nights of my life!

mighty_Q Caught this show with a friend who was at his first, he said his expectations were shattered. I would agree; this was a really solid show that was fun to take part in. Very cool venue, lots of type 2 jamming and plenty of great songs sprinkled in. I agree that returning to the chorus at the end of a song can be unwanted, but being at the show it’s a pretty cool feeling. Extra cool jam in Light and a 2001 for all of the Gamecocks. Can’t wait for night 2.
