The beginning of My Friend featured Trey on acoustic guitar. I Didn't Know featured Fish on trombone. The intro to Bowie contained an All Fall Down signal and an All Things Reconsidered tease. Weekapaug featured an On Broadway tease. Listen before Carolina for an a cappella Suzy Greenberg quote.

DollarBill The 39th show of the tour is another great night at the Warfield. They really dig deep to make the set list completely different than last night. This was an audience source recording so there was a little more crowd than I'm used to, but still good.

Ripping Llama to open up first set, then right into a solid, tight Guelah. Rift was much better in the solo timing, but not quite there yet. Stash was also very solid tonight. Reba had some tiny off spots in the middle, but a great ending jam. My Friend also had rough spots, though it really rocked by the end. Pen was good and tight. Sample also rocked even though it's still pretty new. IDK brings Fish out on trombone for Nancy. Bowie was pretty weak again in my opinion, they may need to retool this lackluster closer.

It seems like it's been a while since I've heard Buried Alive and this one was pretty good. Same with Halley's. Last time I don't remember it being that good, but this one was reasonably tight. Ice was good, but average, so was Bouncing, and Chalk Dust. Then we have kind of a mini bust out with TMWSIY and Avenu. The whole trio of songs was nicely played tonight. The back end of this set continues to give with another trio of songs. Mike's rocked, and again you can hear the seeds of Simple being planted. Hydrogen was actually really good; it's been a while since I've said that. Weekapaug started off very awkwardly with no Mike, and sounded like there was in-fighting going on during the jam. It rocked anyway... HYHU brings Fish back out to do a well practiced, better than expected, Rosie. Poor Heart was solid and Golgi was a rocking closer to this pretty good second set.

Coil gets the call tonight and this one is ok, a few spots from Trey early on, but of course Page brings it at the end. Very funny stage banter during the shushing, prompting the boys to tease Suzy and eventually do a whole Carolina.

I really thought about giving this one five stars just to bring the average up, but I'm sticking with four.

Review by Miguelito

Miguelito Llama to open is always a treat, setting the show up in an upbeat, energetic manner. The Guelah and Rift follow ups fit right in, making this feel like a quintessential ‘93 show. Both are solidly played, setting us up for the heart of the set: Stash and Reba. The Stash is an excellent version The subsequent Reba is amazing and is the highlight of the set to my ears. That being said, the set has some nice tunes before we get to the closer, including the always-welcome MFMF, an Uncle Pen and I Didn’t Know. The set-closing Bowie should be better, and I had high hopes given the length. And while I enjoyed it, it didn’t seem to really go anywhere really interesting.

Set II opens with a fun sequence of Buried Alive > Halley’s Comet > It’s Ice. While none of these rocked my world, I enjoyed it. Following BATR and CDT, we get a welcome TMWSIY > Avenu Malkenu > TMWSIY. The following Mike’s Groove is spectacular. This sequence has a lot to offer and I relistened to it a number of times before moving on. The Weekapaug is particularly strong and is likely the highlight of the show. The rest of the show is solid although not on the same level as the Mike’s Groove.

I really like this show, and the show before it (particularly the first set). Overall this is a nice two show run at the Warfield with some interesting highlights along the way.
