Review by kedrar

kedrar I saw this show and the show the night before. I love Steamboat, some really great skiing. At this point of my life, however, I couldn't both ski and go to the shows. I chose the shows. The crowd was great, and the bar was located right at the base of the mountain. It is no longer there, I think.

This show is notable for me because I gave Trey grief for ending the show 20 minutes before closing time. I told him that I was there and chose Phish over skiing, and that I felt let down that I missed out on 20 minutes of potential Phish. Trey was very polite, understanding and a true gentleman.

I was an ass.

I ended up going back the next day and asking for the promotional picture the Inferno used to advertise. The owner gave it to me, and I asked him what he thought about Phish. He sort of shrugged his shoulders, and then I asked him what he thought of take the "A" train, and he perked up and smiled and said he really enjoyed it.

thelot Really nice SBD source for this show. Unfortunately it’s just a regular 2 track recording. Charlie Miller put a 16 track recording of Set 1 into circulation back in 2015.

Things start off with a nice Sloth/Sky combo. They pull out Llama again since night one’s version was plagued with sound issues. Another solid version. Brown, Heaps and DeWitt pulls out his bone for I Didn’t Know. Curtain and Possum are well played. No Gamehendge rap between Forbin>Mockingbird. Rocky Top closes out a 1st set for the first time.

Set 2 kicks off with a shredtastic Chalk Dust. Making up for the previous nights opener. They follow this up with a really nice Gin. This version was just as strong as the one from Keene at the start of the tour. Trey was En Fuego during the Bag jam. Inspired MSO. Very enjoyable Tweezer! Solid Bowie with a short but sweet jam. Contact closes out set 2. Somewhat of a rare second set closer. Nice A-Train/BBFCFM to round out the evening. Fish messes with the audience before counting off 1,2,3,4! lol Two great shows at The Inferno to wrap up the Colorado run.
