My first show, and sadly I missed the opener. The venue and lot were about a mile apart, and the shuttle buses they were operating stopped running at some point when the boarding process got out of hand. I'll never forget seeing a state trooper standing on top of one of the buses with a megaphone trying to quell the masses. Most of us just decided to walk, breaking into a sprint as we got closer to the venue and realized the show had already started.

The Jim -> Lizards was particularly memorable, but of course the Harpua leading up to the John Popper appearance overshadowed everything.

My first show too. We had to park in grass along the I-80 exit ramp and walk an hour plus to get to the venue. Missed the first set, but the second set was worth it, especially the Popper appearance. Crazy walk back to our car as people were just jumping on car hoods and trunks to catch rides back to their own cars. Got back to our car just in time as they were towing cars from the exit ramp.

Prince Caspian sure was short in these days, wasn't it? Great setlist, as was typical of the time: all killer, no filler. Simple to open the show is interesting... Reba is really good, but my favorite version (12/31/95) hasn't been surpassed so far, in my listening. The You Enjoy Myself vocal jam was a little bit annoying to me during the part where they were kind of making popping noises with their mouths. Run Like an Antelope in the second set is what I'd call a heady version, leading into a segment featuring John Popper on harmonica (Harpua -> Jam -> Llama, Good Times Bad Times.) I think this is the first unfinished Harpua I've ever heard. John really rips on harp through that sequence of tunes. A Day in the Life settles us in for the night.

Runaway Jim: Very strong and engaging jam and I love the loops, psychedelia, and Page on the baby grand in the last minute that segues nicely into The Lizards. Would recommend. ->

The Lizards: Trey a little sloppy in one spot, otherwise solid and entertaining.

The Wedge: Not a fan of the placement, reminds me of 3.0.

Run Like an Antelope: Great interplay between Trey and Fish on wood blocks in the intro. Two sections of intense tension building. Strong version, would recommend.

Harpua[2] -> Jam[3] -> Good times, fun guest and narration

Llama[3] Cool transition out of Harpua.

Good Times Bad Times[3] Not sure who blew some cues (Page?) but this one is sloppy in parts I would assume Popper may have had something to do with that.

ENCORE:

A Day in the Life: Standard.

Summary: Great setlist and well executed for the most part. Two highlights I would revisit, and they are surrounded by plenty of other fun tunes. I am rating this as a 4/5 even though for some reason that feels a tad too strong.

Reba did not have the whistling ending. Harpua was unfinished; Jimmy played an Abba record (which led to a verse of Abba’s Waterloo), decided that he hated Abba and thought that maybe a little rocking harmonica would tighten it up. John Popper then came out for to play harmonica on a jam that led into Llama. Llama and GTBT also featured John Popper on harmonica. It's Magic was part of the soundcheck's My Sweet One Refrain Medley.

Waterloo verse in Harpua

This was one of the worst parking situations I have ever experienced (or can even imagine) that involved walking aimlessly for a couple of miles in the heat, but it was totally worth it. Absolutely phenomenal experience. The second set was one of the best I have ever seen, and still sticks in my memory.

This was my first show and now that it’s been many, many years I still remember bits and pieces of it.
The logistical setup of the place was nightmarish. The venue itself had the feel of a makeshift attempt at trying to keep something alive that should have been let to die. Nowadays you can go there and the historic village, trails, and surrounding area is really nice to explore. Back then, no one was really sure what the heck was going on.
There were shuttles to take you from lot to show but traffic and just a mass of people made that was completely worthless so we all offloaded to get to the first set on time. Sat on a blanket not too far from the stage and took in the sights.
Being my first show, I thought it was really great. Silly with the Harpua and the Abba jam with Popper. Listening back on it now I’d say that it wasn’t the best show I’d ever been to but at the same time it holds a special place in my heart

First Set pretty much Meh.. Actually was one of the worst sets of the summer tour so far.

Second Set: Run Like An Antelope was good but the real action started with Harpua...Loved the Waterloo > Jam > Llama with Popper. Pretty cool stuff definitely worth a listen.
