There are 4 highlights from this show I would like to hit, and all of them are covers. This show is all about raging covers. Normally, Fire, JJLC and GTBT wouldn't make me raise an eyebrow. But, holy crap!! First, this Fire gets all DEG on ya, and practically enters plinko-jamming territory 23 years in advance. Totally not your typical Fire. Jesus Just Left Chicago is just damn TASTY, and Trey rules it. It'll put a Trey face on yer face, for sure. So, then, Good Times Bad Times, and it freaking RIPS, ROARS, and SHREDS!! Loved it!! Finally, the recording ends with a 25 minute Whipping Post that also ventures out into DEG (this time in a wonky kind of way, though) but also has some fine moments, especially Page. There are some other nice moments, including AC/DC Bag, a typically fun Harpua, a nice tight Fluff to start things off, and even a moment where someone is heard screaming for Peaches which Fishman immediately drops in to. I don't know if that was a coincidence or if it was really like it sounded, Fish responding to the request instantly, but whatever, it was cool. Not even very many rough spots, except maybe the stand-alone Mockingbird which must have been new and had to be started twice. Another great Nectar's show. 4 Stars from me, easy.

Decent SBD recording on this one albeit a little flat. This show is pretty straightforward for the time with a few notable highlights. AC/DC Bag started off set 2 without the opening introduction. This show is all about the Whipping Post in set 3! Type 2 before type 2 was a thing. Truly a top jam up to this point in their short career. Fire even went a little type 2 to close out set 1! Other highlights include Jesus left Chicago and a fun I Didn’t Know.

ive only listened to half of this show, but heres what ive got

the first half was very enjoyable. the onstage banter is cool.....we dont get that as much anymore due to the larger venues, most likely.

famous mocking bird was botched and restarted. "Aborted mission", is what trey said....something like that. and then they started it up again. fun

The Fire was hot (pun intended). 10 minutes? thats long for ANY era, much less 1988

i always dig The Curtain. not much has changed about this song in 20 something years....other than the fact that they sing it better now. the vocals were kinda brutal in this one, actually. i wonder if trey ever took voice lessons or if he just naturally got better over the years.
