This show featured the first known Phish performance of Satin Doll. Fluffhead's lyrics were changed to "sure got some Bette Davis eyes" and the song later contained a "Get up John-Boy" quote (in reference to The Waltons). The jam out of Ya Mar featured Jah Roy on vocals. During the jam, Jah Roy quoted lines from many famous reggae tunes, including One Love, Three Little Birds, and Stir It Up. I Didn't Know featured Fish on trombone. A-Train featured a Flintstones theme tease from Trey. This setlist is likely incomplete.

You absolutely have to love the excellent Slave, Peaches, YEM that starts this recording. The YEM totally rages! Fluff gets a little mangled, but contains references to "Betty Davis Eyes" and the Waltons, and the jam is rip-tastic. Interesting AC/DC Bag with a nice > into Lizards, although the Lizards is fairly rough. Halley's is amusingly awful from a lyrical perspective, but there's actually a short but very cool jam and great -> into a cool Wilson. Very nice! Then it's time for the real treat: A Ya Mar that segues straight into a 20 minute reggae jam with Jah Roy! I loved the reggae jam, it was a lot of fun. There are a couple of nice moments in the rest of the recording, including a nice vocal jam in Sneakin' Sally and quite the interesting 16 minute Bowie excursion, as well as Possum played with a shuffle tempo. I will say, though, that after hearing Tela in "Shadow of Wilson's Castle" style, I can see that Time Turns Elastic is not the first time Trey's put something together that sounds forced and awkward to my ears. Nevertheless, I totally enjoyed this show. I'm going to go 4 stars, even though I could probably argue myself into 5, it was that enjoyable. To quote Jah Roy, "Phish nice, Phish nice!"

Beautiful audience recording on this one. It almost sounds like the mics are on stage. I really enjoyed this show a lot! From the opening Slave to the closing Bowie, this show had great flow and energy. Highlights include Slave, YEM, Jam with Jah Roy, Sneakin’ Sally, Tela and David Bowie. The debut of Satin Doll segueing into A-Train is also a treat. Good stuff!
