Review by A_Buddhist_Prodigy

A_Buddhist_Prodigy What a fun show. It’s hard to beat dancing in the sand, but the music was so spot on and surprising. First set was the best first set of the run by far. Wolfman’s was superb and a 21 minute gem. But really the star was the second set. I never thought I would say that CDT was a ‘breather’ but it was!! The Fuego and Beneath a Sea of Stars was other worldly. Fuego had so many fun sections and you could tell it was the longest jam of the run. Then Beneath a Sea of Stars was the obvious let down song…but no! It went into a serene and blissful space that perfectly matched the soft waves on the beach. From there into a morass of unknown muck, but the boys expertly led us out and back to the beach. CDT was such a shift that I was actually glad it didn’t go long (weird, right?). Then Most Events was a perfect way to close the second set. Page was the star tonight and he didn’t let anyone down. I loved it! This is way I do Phish.

Review by jive1twoandlee

jive1twoandlee Cars Trucks Buses is an excellent way to start the show, lots of great energy through this whole set. Moma had a nice groove, great Mike moments. Trey fuckin slayed the second half of Sigma. Holy shit! This Wolfman is stunning! I want to live in it, I want to BE it. Maze and Possum have some great energy.

Oblivion is awesome; maybe not as intense as some others, but still an endlessly solid version. Some sick Trey + Page action. Sightless Escape is a very rare gem, and has an amazing jam. This one that I’ll probably come back to very soon. I wouldn’t mind if they made this one a regular. This Caspian is very powerful. Trey’s solo is visceral > Fuego. This one is an all-timer, for sure. It starts off very high spirited, but gets fairly dark in the second half. Trey harvests the dark magic, especially in the last 5 minutes. This is by far my favorite Sea of Stars. It does everything for me. Everyone is radiating such intense joy in the first half, but the other half is a very eerie. I really like Fishman near the end. Incredibly developed jam, I can listen to this one forever. Most Events Aren’t Planned is great. Brilliant Trey shredding. Perfect way to finish out the set.

This Saw it to Me S.A.N.T.O.S. encore is a great 1-2 punch to end out the show. Amazing energy all around.

This show is very solid Phish all around. Set 1 had a fair bit of filler, but all of Set 2 is just perfect. Check out the Wolfman’s, Sightless Escape, Fuego, Sea of Stars, and MEAP.

DownWithSteam Couch tour disclaimer

This was a good Phish show, the first set highlight is a version of Wolfmans that youll want to hear. Not a ton else notable in this first set.

2nd set is a special one, I think Phish hit the vibe well and played a cohesive set here. Sightless Escape A+ type 2 jamming in there. It flows well and the fuego and sea of stars also get top tier versions.

High energy double encore to end a pretty good Phish show in the sand. Check out the Wolfmans and entire 2nd set!
