    The late Mimi Fishman currently holds the record for the Phish family member who has made the most on-stage appearances. Given her prowess with Jon’s vacuum cleaner and various other musical toys, it seems to be a record well deserved.
    Mimi substituted for Henrietta on vacuum during “I Didn’t Know” (7/19/91), “Terrapin” (10/19/91), “Lengthwise” (11/23/92 and 4/23/93), “If I Only Had a Brain” (2/25/93) and “Purple Rain” (8/20/93). Mimi also danced in the memorable Madison Square Garden “Freakapaug” on 10/22/96.
    Outside of Phish, and her relationship with her famous son, Mimi, who passed away in January 2001, was active in raising funds for glaucoma research and other causes. An annual concert was held in her honor at The Wetlands Preserve in New York City, with proceeds going to benefit charity. And, in recent years, there have been online auctions of jamband-related items to help her foundation raise funds for increased research: www.mimifishman.org.
