MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 449

Welcome to the 449th edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, and thanks to @justino for his help on one of the clips. The winner will receive an MP3 download code courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the songs and dates of both mystery clips, which are connected by a theme. Each person gets one guess to start – if no one answers correctly in the first 24 hours, I'll post a hint. After the hint, everyone gets one more guess before Wednesday at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. Good luck!

Answer: They did it! Congrats to our 28th MJM Emeritus, @Zands, who with their seventh MJM win (all in the last 16 months, including four of the last seven) becomes the most recent inductee in the MJM Hall of Fame. This week, they needed no hints to identfiy the 8/16/93 "Split Open and Melt" and 12/4/99 "Split Open and Melt." For their efforts, they take home yet another LivePhish code, the distinction of becoming the fourth (and final?) quarantine emeritus, the blessing and curse of having more free time on Mondays, and of course, a pair of COVID-19 vaccines for them and a friend, courtesy of Bill Gates, full of nanochips that will allow them to play any Phish recording in the vault from within their heads just by thinking about it. Nice work my friend, my friend!

Rfpiii Definitely sounds like melt jam but knowing the exact date is crazy hard and would require a much larger brain than I possess

sumac22 Nice work @Zands. Completely forgot it was Monday lol, got here like ten minutes ago. Looked all through the Melt jam charts and looked in the wrong places for #2. Great win. I believe that's #7, right? Congrats!

Always a big fan of the 8-14-93 Tinley Park Melt (well played and Mike is nice and pronounced in the mix) and the 12-7-95 version which goes out there and is fairly intense.

1999 gets me in the right spots, especially these two:
