MORE FROM KELLY MORRIS AT PHANART

In case you missed it, Kelly Morris of THE MORE VIDEO fame was recently interviewed by Tom Marshall on his Under the Scales podcast. I enjoyed the podcast and wanted to learn a bit more from Kelly about what she was up to this summer.

CD: Can you summarize how the love for your "More" video has inspired you?

KM: In December, the outpouring of love, energy and support surrounding The MORE Project video was immediate and tangible. I wanted to harness and focus that collective somehow, and keep the momentum of "More" building, continually asking the quesiton of, "What Does More Mean to You?" Be MORE Now, while being present, aware, focused and mindful.

That is why Be MORE Now was created, as a collective gathering space to unite, inspire, plan and envision future projects enabling the community to come together (forgive me, that song is very fresh in my head this morning, after hearing the debut last night in Pittsburgh!) in new and different ways. There's so much potential. Our roots are still young, growing deeper every day. We're figuring it out. And working with and learning from the other established non-profits in the Phish community, The Mockingbird and The WaterWheel Foundations, is extremely meaningful. We're all in this together.

Film-making is a contribution that continues to delight me. Be MORE Now Films was a natural step for me to utilize in order to continue to capture the visual aspects and inspiration of life, music, message and community service. Collaboration is where my heart is, so I'm eager to do more of it in the future.

CD: And for those who haven't heard the podcast, what are you up to these days and how can fans help YOU more?

KM: This weekend, to celebrate the start of Baker's Dozen, we'll be at the PhanArt show, taking place at the Hotel Penn. Be MORE Now Films / Be MORE Now & The MORE Project will be shooting quick interviews with fans to be used in future projects. We'll be asking fans to share their Phish history, and to talk about their inspiration and passion with us. I'll be there from noon-3p Saturday, and doing the same thing to celebrate the wrap of the dozen at the third PhanArt Show on Saturday, August 5.

I'm also working on other projects, including an ongoing documentary series of micro-shorts focused on Phans, their passion, and their projects, called "You Be You: The Wingsuit Series." There are other projects in development but I don't want to discuss them because they'll be fun surprises when they come to light. This is all more than I can manage independently, so help is very much appreciated. I'm learning how to ask for it and would love to grow Be MORE Now and Be MORE Now Films. If you're interested in getting involved, please let me know. There's a lot to do!
