SCREENS 'N' SUDS BIG EVENT IN RICHMOND SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD

Our friends from Screens 'n' Suds will be holding their fourth annual "Big Event" in Richmond, VA to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Galley 5 on Saturday, November 3rd from 4 to 9 p.m. at Gallery 5, 200 W. Marshall St in Richmond. Lovers of poster art and craft beers in the Mid-Atlantic region will flock to this unique event which has raised over $50,000 for Multiple Sclerosis research and other charities.

There's no cover charge and a suggested $5 donation, all ages, 21+ to drink. This year's event will feature Screens 'n' Suds "Inaugural Brew", a special collaboration between Hardywood Park breweries and Screens 'n' Suds. There will be a small amount of limited edition, signed and numbered bottles available at the event.

The craft brewery lineup includes Hardywood Park, Legend, Starr Hill, Midnight Brewing, Devil’s Backbone, Dogfish Head, New Belgium, Sierra Nevada, Blue Mountain, Terrapin, and St. George. The tentative list of artists contributing to the series include Itty Bitty Press, A Firebird Surrounded, Plastic Flame Press, Branden Otto, Praxium Press, Jason Taylor, The Bungaloo, Horan/Andershock Collaboration, Ashley Phipps, with many more TBA.

In celebration of Screens 'n' Suds 4th year, the 2012 fall print edition theme will be "Quad." In Suds terms, Quad is short for Quadrupel, a trappist style strong ale of great strength and flavor. The strongest of the four common trappist styles, the Quadrupel is generally a dark ale with big flavors of dark fruit. In Screens terms, artists explore the artistic world of "Quad" or "Four." Approximately ten poster artists from all over the country will be at Gallery5 displaying and selling art. There will be a silent auction and a raffle for gift certificates, prints, and other goodies during the event.

There will also be related Screens 'n' Suds events in the Richmond area starting with a "Halloween Fun Bar Crawl" on Wednesday, October 31st with a scavenger hunt for swag, on Thursday, November 1st at the Hardywood Park Brewery, on Friday, November 2nd at Gallery 5, and Sunday, November 4th at the 17th Street Farmers Market, so lovers of art and craft beers can come to Richmond and make a festive weekend out of it. Further information on the "Big Event" and related events for the weekend is available on the Screens 'n' Suds website at http://www.screensnsuds.com/ and their Facebook group page at http://www.facebook.com/groups/screensnsuds.
