Reba

kipmat IMO "Atypical" doesn't describe this Reba jam well enough. At the start of Trey's solo, his playing is definitely aggressive, as if he is venting his frustration over flubs in the composed section. But the jam quiets down as Trey starts listening to Mike's ostinato single-note line, and the band collectively builds the musical tension to a peak. It sounds to me like standing next to subway train tracks, as a train is heading into the station without stopping. You can hear the rumble of the train coming, but the noise very quickly explodes as the train passes by. It's the sort of musical moment that would lead to the "revelatory" Split Open and Melt jam later in this tour on 4/21.
