I didn't think Alaska killed the set last night either, but there's a huge disparity in attitude toward the show between people who attended and people who did not. That's probably fairly normal, but I think those two camps might be more polarized than normal in this instance. I have a feeling this might just be one of those "you had to be there" shows. Personally, I've never enjoyed a show as much as I did last night!

That being said, in my opinion, Alaska, like Ocelot kinda falls into the general type of Grateful Dead feel that the band openly acknowledged avoiding prior to 3.0. That plodding song form that both carry is a relatively new element of Phish's sound and I just don't think they get that while Ocelot is a pretty great song, Alaska just isn't interchangeable.
