A generally strong, well played first set. PYITE, Wolfman's brother and Walls of the Cave were all on point. It seemed like Trey had some trouble synching the jam in Stash and it wrapped up somewhat quickly but Free was a good landing place that led into a well jammed Mike's Song..and then into Bug? Well, I can't listen to Bug without thinking of Trey's special guest singer earlier this year so I enjoyed it.

That second set - WOW. Been seeing the band for over 30 years and the from Moma Dance to SOAM was some of the best, dirtiest, and bravest music I've seen Phish play live.

What a Moma Dance. And that Split Open and Melt jam could have gone off the rails with Trey deconstructing the rhythm with discordant tones but instead it was a true, melt your face experience that came together in a really incredible fashion. Also Sprach Zarathustra was jammed in the way I always wish they had back in the day and then some. Of course, then you have Trey giggling too much to say "nipple" twice in Fee. And, of course, Thunderhead.

Maybe you had to be there but that 2nd set was a truly special experience. Looking forward to Sunday.

On paper, save for the bustout Thunderhead, you could easily write this off as an “above-average” show and not much more.

And you would be dead wrong about that.

The band took on every single song with unexpected bravery and balls, and it paid off big time. Don’t get me wrong, I love sprawling 20-minute jams and 5 song sets, but you simply can’t beat a top to bottom heater like this. Listen to this one start to finish, because my god it’s a damn good show.

This was a 5 star show!! Probably the best melt I've ever seen! Moma dance was insane! Wall of the cave was unbelievable! They really commanded the stadium tonight. I love this band! It's unfathomable that 4 musicians can create sound that is so intricate and full. How are 4 humans creating this?? Being 10-20 people back from Page and Trey is an unbelievable viewpoint to witness this magic. I have no idea what I would do if I couldn't see Phish playing live. We are so lucky! Life is beautiful! The realm of possibilities for the present and future are so vast. We can pour so much love into existence. Phish makes you a better person. I am loving awareness. I am so Grateful for this band, for existence, for nature, for hope, for childlike wonder. I am so happy I get to be alive on this beautiful planet! Onwards! Love each other! 1 more night. I'll be the first to admit that I am what they call a jaded vet, albeit reluctantly. You see, I want with all my soul to feel the same way about the music as I did back in '94, but I just can't. That said, I've come to terms with my position. You won't hear me say a word of disparagement about the Phish from Vermont. All this is to say that I definitely would never have expected to come to phish.net to write a rave review about a recent show, and yet here I am.

I don't go in for those blow-by-blow, song-by-song rhapsodies that granularize each show to the point that they become meaningless. All I'll say is this: the Split Open and Melt was truly something special. If nothing else, do yourself a favor and listen to this. It's exquisite, and I'm in awe as I type these very words of admission that it was on par with the Providence Bowie. What an absolute delight. These guys still manifest miracles.

After playing a long-ass" rain delay rager phish enters night 3 with a challenge to deliver without many notable favorites. From the little extended intro in PYITE you could tell something was happening here. Punch thru walls is just incredible playing with Trey in total control. Walls really goes deep echoing back to a previous era from which we would see an old friend return tonight. Stash transitioned smoothly into Free and the band got down with some nasty cow phunk. Bug was a surprisingly great set closer to a near perfect first set.

KDF through end of show is just peak phish. There's no other way to say it, IYKYK. Just nitpicking a little if they would have started at KDF and it had absorbed the SANTOS time into the jam this would be set of the year, still might be though. Thunderhead felt like a warm hug, beautifully placed, and well played at just a slighty elevated tempo. Melt is chaos, unhinged, off the rails in the best way reducing the crowd to primordial ooze. Finally got my fee, my cats namesake song.

Very few, if any, missteps here even for the pickiest of phans. 5/5 for energy, flow, setlist and micro jams in uncommon places. Possibly one of my favorite attended shows for sentimental reasons and probably the best dicks show since 09/01/2017.

This show was played with a relentless energy I've never seen. Not sure if it will come through on the playback the way it did live, but it really felt like they were playing with a chip on their shoulder, like they were still pissed off about the rain delay the previous night and had something to prove. They tore into this from the get-go and it was all gas, no brakes the whole way through with the exception of Bug as a nice landing pad, but still blown up into a set-closer in a way I've never heard it before.

This was only my 36th show (all 3.0 but including most of Dick's including all of 2012), so take this with a grain of salt, but this was the greatest concert I've ever seen and left me walking out with my jaw on the floor.

I've had some time to let this show marinate. I walked out saying it's as good as any show I've seen... I still stand by that after a relisten.

It does not have massive Type II jams, but it is such a clean show start to finish. Wonderful flow, and even some surprising Type II moments in Walls and Moma. KDF and Sigma also have great moments. The SOAMelt is absurd. Thunderhead is just a wonderful song lyrically.

I will always and forever hold this show in high regard regardless of what anyone else thinks about "what show might be better".

Cup is still very full.

Punch You in the Eye: Good stuff, love when they open with PYITE. Really gets the juices flowing. Played relatively well.
Wolfman's Brother: 3:18 to 3:23 Boogie On tease from Trey. Nice little run of sustained notes from Trey in the early 8:00’s. Solid Wolfman’s. Can always count on this one in 3.0. Always.
Walls of the Cave: When I saw this setlist, I was pumped to see this in the three hole. Finally, breaking it out of it’s pigeonhole closing out sets, mostly first sets. It’s insane to see how often to see over it’s history where it’s played in the same spot. Well, the new placement certainly sparked something with the band! Very cool jam! They do go for the bliss crutch towards the last two minutes or so. But before that they get to a very cool, dissonant space that I love in the 11 minute range. Wish they would have stayed there and not opted for the safety blanket approach. All that said, really good jam.
Heavy Rotation: Nice little jam, some of this tune seems ill fitted for Page’s vocal range though which is odd since it was his band’s tune to begin with?

Thunderhead > Great bustout, fan of the placement. Love this song. Little jam tacked on to this one too!
The Moma Dance: 6:36 swear I can hear Trey just slightly teasing Burning Down the House, check it out. This version really does have some similarity to one of the all time greats, the Moma Death March from 6.17.04. Trey’s tone is dark and dirty much like Brooklyn’s was, love it. This jam is just nasty and one of the best from this Dick’s run for sure. ->

Slave to the Traffic Light: Good Slave, nothing too crazy but good version.

Summary: Having listened to the first three shows of the run so far, this is my favorite and I would score it a solid 3.9 out of 5. Three really good jams in WOTC, KDF and Moma with a nice surrounding cast to support those pillars. This show far, far outpaces the first two nights in my eyes.

No rain, No Quarter, and a lot of hose!

Most reviewers have already done a fine job. I’ll just encourage those who weren’t there to Star this show for a listen.
Arguably top versions of Walls, KDF and Moma plus nice placements of Boogie On, Free, Thunderhead>No Quarter>2001>SOAM.

Following the night of an unprecedented rain delay, everyone was giddy for what might come out of this clear Saturday. Now that I've had some time to listen back and digest 4 nights of mayhem, I thought I'd share my 2 cents.

There are so many songs that can cultivate crowd energy and launch from the get go.. and PYITE is a damn good way to jump out of reality and into that happy place we all know so well.
The following songs, Wolfman's, and WotC, only reinforced the theme from the previous night.. that being a lovely combination of strong playing and fearless exploration.
The rest of the 1st frame has its moments. Mike's > Bug was one of the more obscure experiments of the evening, but I don't mind the tune at all, and.. it doesn't matter after all, does it?

Set 2 was great. Period. A lot has been said here so I won't waste any time on the small details. If there's one takeaway from that second set, it's that some seriously frightening shit went down between CK5 and the band toward the end of Melt. 2 weeks later and I still get goosebumps thinking about how wonderfully weird that was. See ya'll soon enough.

I thought this was the best night of the 4. PYITE through Walls was the perfect kick off to this dance party. Probably my fav Walls to date that I've seen- very patient playing and new territory was reached for this one. Heavy Rotation, Boogie and Stash were well placed and welcome! Free brought the funk late in the 1st set and it landed extremely well w/ a surprised Mikes>Bug to close! I like Bug, and this one had a little extra sauce! Setbreak had a common theme with everyone around us- killer Walls and Free and great set flow! We were set up on the floor right behind the FOB tapers...the sweet spot. Sounded perfect, not too loud but crisp! 2nd set calls were plenty- mine was Mr Completely, but he didn't show in CO. It would be the first Santos 2nd set opener! KDF was an interesting call at first, but wow did this version flex its muscle! What a version!! Sigma has been lurking all weekend and everyone in the house knew it was coming. Solid version, caught it in MPP and enjoyed both. At this point of the show is where/why its my favorite hour of Phish from summer '22. A breakout from '03- Thunderhead through SOAM was why we travel far and wide to see this band. Pedal to the floor Phish. That Moma??? Come on now. First 2nd set Moma I've seen and wow did they give it a ride! I've been chasing No Q for so long. Missed it by one show last summer at the Gorge. Was going in feeling good about the chances...it was the only song I reeeeally wanted to hear- but I knew it was a stretch. So when I heard Page toying with the opening keys....YES!!!!! High fives all around. A 65 show absence and my first No Q. Finally! 2001 was the perfect transition. Loved the extended disco jam. They saved what I feel is the highlight of the entire weekend...that SOAM!! On lot I saw the "Evil" phish shirts circulating, and this version is why that shirt exists. This is the evil, scary, weird side of this band that comes out sparingly where you don't have a choice but to be completely engulfed in the trance of musical darkness. I get chills. Gorge '11 R&R, Santa Barbara '21 46 days quickly pops into mind. "Off the rails" Phish. Kuroda was MVP of the evilness- pure insanity. It was almost as if he saved a few special treats this summer just for this SOAM!! My first Fee!! So fun and a smokin' Slave to close. Perma-grinned faces and huge hugs all around from our crew. I was given a gold star sticker as I was leaving the venue, but it was the band that deserved it. Saturday night Dicks was gold star Phish.

The Dick’s are obviously in balls-deep with the reviewing crowd. I get it, Colorado is pretty exhilarating (and maybe the thinner air has something to do with it) but I have to admit; I feel like I already saw this show in Cleveland, OH. Look at the similarities between the set lists. The Blossom Also Sprach Zarathustra > SOAM is just as musically and spiritually fulfilling. Let’s not get too overwhelmed and please, stay grounded when the urge to pour on the superlatives arises. Thank you.
