Yield Not to Temptation was teased before Possum. I Didn't Know featured Fish on trombone. Trey teased Dave’s Energy Guide during the Tweezer, and Simple Gifts during BBFCFM. The second encore was played after a loud and passionate “Phish” chant by the audience.

Review by jcmarckx

jcmarckx My first show. I was dragged to it by my old Deadhead touring buddy who thought I would love these guys. He got the Junta cassette through Relix about a year before these shows and fell in love. I was not all that impressed after listening to Junta that afternoon before the show, but I was happy to go into SF and have a few beers (or a dozen) and listen to some music.
I do not have much memory of the show except that I am still convinced that they played Fee this night. We kept talking about the three "Fs" (Fee, Fluffhead, and Foam). Somehow I got it into my head that Fee was played. The newly surfaced setlist begs to differ, however. I probably just got that idea from listening to Junta 3 times that afternoon.
I do remember Split Open and Melt and Reba, because I bought the cassette after the show and fell in love with those songs.
I remember thinking these guys were kinda buzzed and maybe not all that professional. Just another band that will disappear in a year.
Also, I don't remember 2 encores, but I was drunk, and it was a long time ago. I do remember raging to GTBT.

Review by TheEmu

TheEmu Only the second set was available through the spreadsheet, so I can only comment on that, but it's pretty damn good. Very tight, and Trey is on fire throughout. Very solid Fluffhead, hilarious BBFCFB (and for the record, Bouncin'> BBFCFM is a damn weird transition), but the highlight is the Tweezer, which is driving and very, very good.

thelot Another digital audience pull for night 2 in Cali. Only Set 2 circulates. The levels start out hot for the start of Possum, but are adjusted just before the jam starts. Unfortunately, the acoustics of the DNA Lounge make for a rather muddy recording. The mics do a good job of picking up lots of beer bottles being thrown in the trash throughout the night though!

Solid Possum opener. An Ancient Greek God in his own time, Moses Brown, pulls out his bone for I Didn’t Know. Well played Fluffhead. Smokin’ hot Tweezer with some DEG teasing. Little miss step at the start of Bouncin. They pair Bouncin’ up with a BBFCFM set closer. Fish tries his best to get the crowd to quiet down for the 1,2,3,4 section of BBFCFM to no avail. lol Rowdy bunch of drunk California chompers! Cool Simple Gifts tease from Trey. At the start of Contact Fish says “this is the song where everybody takes off their clothes!” lol After some time off, Tweezer Reprise makes it’s 3rd appearance, this time separated from Tweezer in the encore slot. The band comes back out for a second encore and delivers a rippin’ GXBX to close out the evening.
