Happy New Year and welcome to the 80th installment of the Mystery Jam Monday series here at Phish.net. Hope everyone had a great time at the shows and/or on #couchtour. As usual, we will be playing for a free MP3 download, courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. The rules haven't changed: you need to correctly identify the song and the date to win. Wednesday Answer: Congrats to Phshrman for correctly ID'ing the 7/30/03 "Scents and Subtle Sounds." If you haven't heard this version, or the whole show really, you should absolutely seek it out. and how could u justify that statement? by saying the jams from 2.0 are longer than 3.0? well cause thats bout it, unless you like horrible encores (secret smile anyone) and botched songs. But the mmj definitely sounds like an 03 Scents jam.

IMO, I don't think anyone can definitively claim one era to be better than another until they've listened to all shows from every era. Of course there are going to be more great shows from 1.0 than 2.0 or 3.0, this is apparent by simple mathematics, but just because you've heard nothing but the great shows from 1.0 doesn't mean 1.0 is absolutely better. Then again, IMO, it seems kind of dumb to try and compare any era to each other since they were/are all concerned with vastly different elements and show types. And just to be safe, I'll say again, just my opinion.
